NEW YORK—As expected, Wade Davis will stay in the Rays’ starting rotation after his stellar debut Sunday against the Tigers.
Davis will next take the ball Saturday at Fenway Park, and Andy Sonnanstine will head to the Rays’ bullpen for the time being. Both pitchers were informed of the decision this afternoon, and Sonnanstine said he hoped to be ready to pitch out of the bullpen by tomorrow, and if not then definitely Friday.
Here’s how the Rays’ rotation will go for the next three series:
At Boston: Shields-Davis-Garza
At Baltimore: Price-Niemann-Shields-Davis
Toronto: Garza-Price-Niemann
