The start of summer camp season paid immediate dividends for USF on Monday when Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson RB Willie Davis verbally committed to the Bulls.
Davis participated in a seven-on-seven tournament at USF over the weekend and enjoyed his visit with USF’s coaching staff.
“I just felt like that while I was down there that I could just like really help the program out with the depth chart and everything,” Davis told USFBullsEye.com. “And then the coaches—I love the coaching staff.”
Davis is the third player in the 2011 recruiting class to commit to USF, joining Port Charlotte WR Alex Mut and Pahokee LB/DB Rontavious Atkins.
A 5-foot-10, 190-pound between-the-tackles runner, Davis gained more than 700 yards last season as a junior.
