TALLAHASSEE - The storyline, not even a week old, is already stale. University of South Florida freshman quarterback B.J. Daniels is returning home to Tallahassee to face No. 18 Florida State in his first start.
It’s the obvious angle for today’s game and, at first, seems pretty simple. It’s not. How Daniels got to this point is actually complicated, a journey intertwined with tragedy, pain, heartbreak and trust.
“It all does seem kind of bizarre,” said Bruce Daniels, B.J.‘s father. “It does seem kind of weird how it all happened in a strange kind of way.”

The real story is how an inexperienced USF defense with a banged up secondary can handle FSU’s offensive attack, isn’t it?
