Dalglish happy after Rowdies end tough week of training

There were some tired legs after the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies Thursday afternoon practice, leading the session to be cut a little short to complete what was expected to be the toughest week of the preseason’s fitness regimen.

Before that, though, there was continued work on the midfield and attacking third strategy Rowdies coach Paul Dalglish has been implementing this week, with some good work being shown by a number of players.

“Some people pick it up quicker than others, but everybody seems to be picking it up now,” Dalglish said. “It’s slowly getting there, we’re slowly getting there because we’re having to get rid of habits they had before they came here. I’m not saying the habits they had were wrong, they were just different to my beliefs and my system, so what was natural to them before we’re having to make natural again.”

Dalglish has been happy with the work the side has put in, espcially in the morning’s fitness sessions. With the opening month of camp coming to an end, he said that next week’s training will be less physically intense with no game scheduled for the end of the week as of this moment.

“We’ll bring it down a little, try and let the guys recover a little bit,” Dalglish said. “Then we’ll go at it again the week after.”
