BALTIMORE - Rays All-Star left fielder Carl Crawford left tonight’s game against the Orioles in the first inning after being hit in the groin area on a pickoff throw. Crawford, who was out on the play, rolled over in obvious pain and needed several minutes before returning to the dugout.
Jason Bartlett entered the game to play shortstop, Reid Brignac moved from short to second, Ben Zobrist moved from second to right field and Matt Joyce moved from right to left.
