Crawford, Burrell have words

BALTIMORE—Shortly before the Rays’ players went out to stretch before batting practice this afternoon, Carl Crawford shouted at Pat Burrell for a minute or two in the middle of the clubhouse.
Manager Joe Maddon met with both players individually afterward and later brushed off questions about what happened.
“It was nothing,” Maddon said. “Honestly—I talked to both parties, everything’s good.”
Crawford declined to elaborate and Burrell wasn’t available for comment.
