Looking for that boxing fix? Here you go:
Don’t forget to tune in to Jeff Lacy’s return to the ring tonight on Wednesday Night Fights on ESPN2. The St. Petersburg super middleweight will take on Columbian Epifanio Mendoza in the program’s main event. Boxers touch gloves at 10 p.m. ET.
Lacy (23-1, 17 KOs) will face a hard-punching Mendoza (28-5-1, 24 KOs), who last fought Chad Dawson and loss by technical knockout in the fourth round of their Sept. 2007 bout.
If Lacy gets a victory, his next opponent likely will be Jermain Taylor, possibly in November for a WBO belt.
Also, Saturday’s Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito showdown, which is an HBO pay-per-view event from Vegas, can be viewed at the Hip Hop Soda Shop, 1241 East Fowler Ave., Tampa. VIP Tables can be had at $15 per seat and for food and refreshments, add $10.
For more info, contact Ivan Echevarria of Legally Hustling Promotions at (813) 309-9991 or (813) 789-7061.
The Cotto-Margarito event kicks off at 9 p.m. ET Saturday.
