This year’s Bowman Sterling football is a perplexing product to me. On the one hand, it’s a high-end offering by Topps, coming in at about $50 per mini-box (which contain five cards)

On the other hand, the design is almost too busy — unless you are into chartography.
The bending lines criss-crossing behind the main subject remind me of latitude and longitudes lines on those maps we had to memorize in school.
That being said, a five card pack should yield some autographed cards and relics. The mini-box I sampled had an autograph of Browns rookie Mohamed Massaqoui, game worn jersey cards of Shonn Greene and Steven Jackson (the Jackson card is a refractor numbered to 199).
A fourth card in the pack was a refractor of Bills rookie center Bear Pascoe; the fifth and final card in the pack was an Eric Wood base card numbered to 799.
As always with Bowman, rookies are the main draw in the sets. Some of these guys may seem obscure, but then again, most rookies are.
