ST. PETERSBUG The Rays placed Alex Cobb on the disabled list this morning because of the discomfort the right-hander felt in his right hand during Saturday’s loss to the A’s.
Cobb was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital for test, but the tests didn’t reveal anything serious.
Cobb pitched 4 1/3 innings, matching his career-low, and allowed a career-high five runs. He also walked four of the final eight batters he faced.
The team recalled lefty Cesar Ramos to replace Cobb.
