One day after being released, Tampa Bay has signed WR Brian Clark to its practice squad.
Kirk Wood, Clark’s agent, confirmed Clark was signed via e-mail on Sunday afternoon. Tampa Bay’s decision to retain Clark makes a lot of sense.
Clark showed a lot of promise this preseason, catching a TD pass against Miami, but was caught up in a numbers game. Joey Galloway, Antonio Bryant, Ike Hilliard, Dexter Jackson, Michael Clayton and Maurice Stovall were locks to make Tampa Bay’s team, leaving no room for Clark.
However, Clark, a former Chamberlain High standout, will have an opportunity to learn and possibily play this season if there are any injuries to any receivers in front of him. Coaches love his speed, playmaking ability, hands and potential.

Good! Guy showed some natural ability. Now for Smith, who looked like a good third-down back prospect.....

Glad Bucs resigned Clark to practice squad. He will be a good replacement for Hilliard next year. Same for Dre Moore who needs to apply himself and work himself into NFL shape. Smith looked fast and would be a good third down back but we already have Warrick Dunn for that. Smith was a little undersized, however, and had trouble braking tackles. Smith was thrown around like a rag-doll at times. But that said, I agree he would be great on the practice squad.
