Chamberlain in need of defensive coordinator

The help wanted sign is still up at Chamberlain.

Head coach Joe Severino continues to search for a defensive coordinator after former Leto head coach Hugh Dehnert informed him Tuesday afternoon he won’t take the job. Since resigning from Leto earlier this year, Dehnert’s been helping out with the offensive line at Plant and will remain there this season.

“It’s nothing against the Chamberlain program, but I like my position at Plant and being a part of that program,” Dehnert said. “The players at Plant are a great group of guys. For now, I think it’s a smart thing for me to stay at Plant.”

So with the first day of football practice a little more than a week away, Severino said he is back to working the phones in search of defensive coordinator. The position opened up when Kirk Karsen left to join new head coach Brian Turner at Sickles. If anyone is interested in the Chamberlain job, they can contact Severino at (813) 956-6374.
