The Tampa Bay Storm have re-signed OL/DL Ernest Certain and DL Kelvin Kinney to one-year contracts. Both players were set to become free agents. The deals were signed this weekend and announced by the team on Monday.
Kinney was signed to the Storm’s roster following the first week of the 2008 season after his release from Columbus. He went on to lead the team in sacks (4.5) and tackles for loss (7.5).
Certain appeared in the first five games before spending the rest of the season on injured reserve.
Seven Storm players will now become free agents: QB Stoney Case, DL Tom Briggs, K Seth Marler, WR/LB Lawrence Samuels, DL Nyle Wiren, OL/DL Marcus Owen and DB Traco Rachal. The free agency period begins October.
