Carrollwood Day running back Robert Davis is racking up yards at a record pace.
The Patriots sophomore has compiled 354 rushing yards through the first two games and is averaging a whopping 18.6 yards per carry heading into tonight’s matchup at Vero Beach St. Edward’s. He’s already more than a third of the way to the school-record 1,022 rushing yards Darius Bing posted last season.
Carrollwood Day coach Lane McLaughlin has not been surprised with Davis’ production.
“We have a good (offensive) line; really big for Class 1B,” McLaughlin said. “Robert has great instincts and terrific acceleration and uses his blockers well.”
