It has been just three years since the Carrollwood Day School football program became an 11-man team and they’ve proven the learning curve isn’t so bad – at least not for the Patriots.
The Associated Press released its Florida High School Preseason Football Poll and CDS found itself in the conversation among some of the best teams in Class 2A. The Patriots received enough votes to get a nod at No. 7.
“First time any CDS sport gets votes in AP,” Carrollwood Day coach Lane McLaughlin wrote Tuesday morning via text.
Heading the list of Class 2A are: 1. Glades Day; 2. Jupiter Christian; 3. Warner Christian; 4. North Florida Christian; 5. Admiral Farragut; 6. Dade Christian; 7. Carrollwood Day; 8. Victory Christian; 9. University Christian; 10. Deltona Trinity Christian.
