Carrollwood Day running back Robert Davis announced via his Twitter account (@RDavis_5) that he has made a verbal commitment to Cincinnati.
Davis, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound senior speedster, had 1,832 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2011 for the 6-4 Patriots. Davis now has 3,355 yards in the past two seasons and needs just 1,966 to pass Riverview’s Avious Steadman (5,320 yards, 1998-2001) as Hillsborough County’s all-time leader.
Davis, who also had 72 tackles and two interceptions at free safety, chose the Bearcats over FAU, FIU, Middle Tennessee, Holy Cross, North Texas, Presbyterian, Ball State and Bowling Green.
