Cambridge Christian senior soccer standout Sean Houseman has accepted a chance to be a preferred walk-on at Barry University, Lancers coach Kevin Hickinbotham said Tuesday.
Houseman played the last two seasons for the Lancers and was the team’s leading scorer as a senior, tallying 17 goals and 11 assists.
That brings the total to seven the number of Lancers senior athletes who will compete at the next level, out of a senior class of 46.
Three other soccer players - Malissa Gallogly (Lambuth College), Lara Theodore (Polk CC), Kyle Sims (Appalachain State) - will play collegiately, as well as three football players - Erik Shears (Quincy University), Taylor Cabral (Campbell University), and Jake Hunter (Midland Lutheran). Those six all signed scholarships.
