Cambridge Christian football coach Bob Dare was named the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Coach of the Week for Week 5.
Dare led his team to a 39-27 win against previously undefeated Indian Rocks Christian last Friday, running his team’s record to 4-1.
The Lancers have proven to possess a prolific offense that has put up 215 points in its first five games, an average of 43 points a contest. Cambridge jumped all over IRC in the first half last week, building a 27-14 lead.
In that game, quarterback Phillip Johnson connected on 13-of-26 passes for 181 yards, one passing and one rushing touchdown.
The Lancers will travel to Calvary Christian (2-2) tonight. That game kicks off at 7:30.
Being selected as Coach of the Week earned Dare a tour of One Buccaneer Place as well as a $1,000 check for the Ravens football program. Throughout the high school football season, the Bucs will recognize 10 central Florida football coaches. At season’s end, a Coach of the year will be selected and he will receive an additional $1,000 for his football program.
