Cambridge Christian left hander Matt Mullins will sign with Eckerd College Thursday, according to Lancers coach Sam Marsonek.
Mullins (5-3, 2.85 era) earned the win in Cambridge’s 12-0, five-inning, district semifinal win Tuesday against Tampa Bay Christian Academy, throwing four innings of shutout baseball while striking out eight.
“Matt has put in a lot of work over the last year and it’s great that he’ll have an opportunity to pitch at the next level,” Marsonek said. “He’s come so far in the last couple of months and this is just a really cool chance for him.”
