Freedom High sophomore golfer Matt Camara will compete Saturday in the 10th Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt National Championships at Celebration Golf Club in Orlando.
Camara is one of 14 national qualifiers competing in the 13-14 age division. He won the regional championship April 12 at Falcons Fire Golf Club in Kissimmee to qualify for the event. Camara finished first in the drive competition (the winning drive was 288 yards), second in putting and third in chipping at the regional event, according to his father, Frank.
Robby Eisch, 8, of Tampa, also qualified for the event by winning the 7-8 age division at the regional championship.
