Armwood coach Sean Callahan reached a personal milestone when the Hawks defeated Tampa Bay Tech last Friday night.
The win was the 150th career victory for the Hawks longtime coach.
Callahan, now in his 19th season as Armwood’s head coach, is 150-67 overall in his career.
“It’s a nice accomplishment, but, you know, during the middle of the season I’m more focused on Plant City and Hillsborough [the Hawks’ next two opponents] right now,” Callahan said.
Callahan has picked up the bulk of his wins this decade. Since the 2000 season, and not counting this season, Callahan has led the Hawks to nine wins or more seven times, 10 wins or more six times, and a 15-0 mark in 2003, which culminated with the first of two consecutive Class 4A state titles. He’s had just one losing season this decade, a 4-6 mark in 2001.
Entering this season, Callahan’s Hawks had 66 wins since the start of the 2003 season, the most of any program in the state during that stretch.
Overall this decade, Callahan is 95-18, including the Hawks’ six wins this season.
Armwood (6-0) remained a consensus Top 10 team in the nation following the 45-6 victory over the Titans Friday at Lyle Flagg Field.
The Hawks remained No. 2 in the RivalsHigh 100, No. 5 in the USA Today Super 25, No. 7 in the ESPNRISE FAB 50, and No. 7 in the PrepNation.com National Prep Poll.
The Hawks host Plant City (3-3) on Thursday.

Congratulations Coach!
150 wins total, and a 95-18 record in the last 7.5 seasons is an incredible achievement. Especially when you consider where that program was when you started and where it is today.
This record is clearly a testament to hard work from a talented coaching staff and of course great players.
May you have another 150 wins just not against Plant!
