It is beginning to appear Tampa Bay RB Cadillac Williams will play against Detroit on Sunday.
Gruden would not definitely say Williams will be in Tampa Bay’s lineup against Detroit, but hinted it would likely will happen.
“Carnell is doing some good things,” Gruden said. “I think he’ll be ready to play. There is a chance we can use him.”
Tampa Bay might have to use Williams since its running back options are limited.
RB Warrick Dunn has may not be able to carry an entire workload, RB Clifton Smith has fumbled in three consecutive games, while FB B.J. Askew has not played running back since college.
In addition, Gruden said TE Alex Smith (ankle) tried to practice on Friday, but left because he was in too much discomfort. Gruden said Smith will be listed as questionable, but the coach rarely plays guys who are unable to practice throughout the week. That means TE Jerramy Stevens and John Gilmore will see their playing time increase.
“He’s not well enough to practice,” Smith said. “He [Smith] tried to go and he was limited and went back inside. He’s not ready to practice and he’ll be questionable for the game.”

I think the Bucs is ready to turn the next corner, But they have to win the games they are favorite.Tampa has come a long way since they started in this league. I believe they will finally gets the respect they will be due. When they go back to the NFC Championship game I hope against the Giants and it will be for payback. Tampa offense has Improve this year than previous years. Its a shame Graham can’t be there for rest of the season. But now its Caddy and Dunn show with C.Smith and the new back they brought on. Let Tampa go after 1 game at a time. GO Bucs
