After spending a season at North Carolina Tech Prep, former Spoto football player Alex Byers has been offered an athletic scholarship from Tifton University.
The Dragons, located in north central Ohio, compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The wide receiver was a Hillsborough County East-West all-star game in 2008. He was the Spartans starting receiver, catching 11 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns his senior season.
