6 Shutouts this season for Armwood, a new team record. The Hawks posted five shutouts in 2003, the year they won their first state championship, and in 2005. Armwood shutout Hillsborough 23-0 in the 6A-Region 2 semifinals, the second time the Hawks have shutout the Terriers in the postseason. They also blanked Hillsborough 35-0 in 2007.
10 Touchdown passes by Plant QB James Few through two playoff games, including four he threw in the Panthers victory against Dr. Phillips. Last week, Few tied a playoff team record with six touchdown passes, a feat equaled by Phillip Ely (Alabama) in 2009 and Aaron Murray (Georgia) in 2007.
11 Years since Gaither advanced to a regional final round. The Cowboys lost to Palm Bay 28-7 in the Class 6A regional final in 2000. With its 17-14 victory against Tampa Bay Tech Friday night, Gaither moved on to the 7A-Region 2 finals where they will play Lakeland.
164.1 Rushing yards average by Berkeley Prep senior athlete Nelson Agholor. One of the most recruited players in the country, Agholor has helped his Bucs team reach the state semifinals for the first time in school history.
Berkeley travels to Delray Beach American Heritage Friday night to try and secure a spot in the Class 3A state championship game.
1992 Year Pasco and Jesuit met at Florida Field for the Class 3A state championship. Pasco defeated the Tigers 28-16 and it’s the last time they’ve made it to a state title game. The two meet again Friday night in the 5A-Region 2 finals for a spot in the state semifinals.
