Berkeley Prep seniors Jordan Burgess and Mackenzie Dagostino and Riverview senior Sarah Burrington have been named to the 6th annual Under-Armour Girls Volleyball All-American Teams.

Burgess, a Stanford University-signee who recently helped the Buccaneers win their third straight and 15th overall state championship, was named to the first-team, as was Burrington, a 6-foot-4 middle hitter who is signed to Florida State. Dagostino, a setter who will play for the University of Maryland, was named to the second-team.

Burgess and Burrington are invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match & Skills Competition which will take place at the Alamodome on Dec. 16 in San Antonio, TX., in conjunction with the 2011 AVCA Annual Convention.

Burgess, Burrington and Dagostino all play for the Tampa Bay Juniors club team.

To be nominated for the Under-Armour team, the student-athlete must be a senior, must nominated by her high school coach who is a member of the AVCA, and her individual season statistics versus all opponents for the entire season be entered into MaxPreps.

Cardinal Gibbons senior outside hitter Leigh Andrew, who will play for UNC and whose team faced Berkeley in the 4A state semis, was named an honorable mention.
