Andrell Smith led four USF players in double figures with 18 points, and the Bulls women’s basketball team picked up its first win of the season Sunday, topping Minnesota, 60-52, in its final game at the WBI Tip-Off Tournament in Daytona Beach.
Smith hit 7-of-14 shots, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and also grabbed seven rebounds. Jasmine Wynne, who was named to the all-tournament team, had solid all-round game with 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks before fouling out to help the Bulls bounce back from losses in their first two games.
Kaneisha Saunders had 12 points, and Caitlin Rowe had 11 points and seven rebounds to round out USF’s double-digit scorers.
The Bulls (1-2) play their home opener Tuesday at 7 p.m. against North Florida in the campus recreation center.
