After earning a season-opening 23-20 win Saturday at Notre Dame, USF jumped into this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll, checking in at No. 22.
It is the program’s first national ranking under second-year coach Skip Holtz and the first time the Bulls have been ranked since November 2009.
The Bulls just missed breaking into the the USA Today Coaches Poll Top 25 this week. They finished with 97 points, which was good enough for 27th, 43 points behind No. 25 TCU.
USF (1-0) hosts Ball State (1-0) in its home opener Saturday at Raymond James Stadium.
