RICHMOND, Va. - How do you get to Richmond, Va., on a non-stop flight from Tampa to New York? Good question. Unlike Carnegie Hall, it doesn’t involve practice, practice, practice.
I’m on my way to Newport, R.I., for the Big East media days - and at this rate I could have walked there faster - but have been grounded in Richmond because of weather. But enough about my travel nightmares, it’s like listening to someone else’s fantasy football lineup - who cares.
On to the USF news of day: the Bulls will open the 2010 football season with Stony Brook. Wait, my plane is boarding there is hope after all.
I’ll check back later - if I ever land.

I guess I thought they were one of the teams to play us early on…back when we were 1AA Independent.

Mike, Julio’s correct. Thanks Julio for the assist. They’ve played all sorts of I-AA’s, but no Stony Brooks.

Can’t we at least schedule schools that people know? Aren’t there some regional I-AA creampuffs that we can schedule that might actually have fans willing to travel? StonyBrook? I did not even know they had a program until I googled it today.

I think the FAMU Rattlers are a good team to play the creampuff role. They have a strong local fan base and bring good tailgating, good fans and the biggest little band in the south, The Marching 100.
