The University of South Florida Bulls, coming off a bye week, improved to No. 21 in both The Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. Meanwhile, Thursday night’s opponent, the Cincinnati Bearcats, held steady at No. 8 in AP and No. 9 in USA Today. Cincinnati also was idle over the weekend.
The Bulls are 11-7 all-time when ranked and they have a five-game winning streak against ranked opponents, dating to the 2006 victory at West Virginia.
Another good omen for USF: The Bulls are 2-0 all-time in games when both teams are ranked.
