Bulls’ Day, Barone (Concussions) ruled out for Sunlake game

Wiregrass Ranch definitely will be playing Sunlake this Friday without the services of their starting quarterback, Jake Day, and runningback, Jamie Barone.

Day and Barone both sustained concussions in last week’s 20-6 loss to Wesley Chapel. The next day, Coach Jeremy Shobe had listed both as doubtful, leaving open the slight possibility that both could play because they passed post-concussion tests. But in a text message Thursday, Shobe confirmed both will be out.

Senior Ricky Weisbrodt and sophomore Tyre Creary are expected to fill in for Day at QB, while Jamel Nunez should get the bulk of the carries in Barone’s absence.
