USF’s loss at Notre Dame on Sunday ended the Bulls’ four-game winning streak, but continued the program’s streak of never making the AP Top 25 poll.
If USF had won Sunday, the Bulls might have picked up enough votes to make the program’s first appearance in the Top 25.
Instead, Sports Illustrated’s Seth Davis had USF ranked 24th on his ballot, but that only accounted for two points. USF’s best-ever showing in the poll came in December 1991 when the Bulls received 58 points, good enough for No. 29 in the nation that week.
This week, USF is technically No. 44, the last team receiving votes.
