Bucs Will Lean On Clayton, Stovall

Q: Ira or Roy, do you guys see the Bucs possibly looking at bringing in Reche Caldwell or Tampa’s own Darrell Jackson since Bryant Johnson signed with the 49ers and Hackett isn’t showing a real interest with the bucs? Thanks.—Patrick Dotson, Tampa

A: That could happen but I really believe the Bucs plan is to lean more on Michael Clayton and Maurice Stovall and draft heavy for that position in April.

RICHARD KINDER, LUTZ Is sooooooooooooo right. I’ve been saying that for a long time (since last April). He would have been our #1 reciever coming into this year. he would have been our 2nd option against the Giants in the Playoff as well.

I’m completely against drafting a WR in the first round simply because it’s not a strong class and they are not making use of the talented ones they have.  With the signing of Bryant that crowds the situation even more especially if he’s lost the arrogance, and talent wise he’s likely the #2 wideout.  That leaves Clayton and Stovall fighting for the 3rd and 4th position, so it doesn’t make sense to draft a WR in the first round, pay him a lot of money, and watch him sit.  A smarter choice is DB or LB.  Oh and welcome back Carter.

BUC’S BLEW THIER CHANCE LAST YEAR WHEN THEY DID NOT GET CALVIN JOHNSON.PROBLEM WOULD BE SOLVED THIS YEAR AND MANY MORE YEARS TO COME.

CCC (Can’t Catch Clayton) has not done anything for the last 3 years, how can a pro team lean on a person like him???  These decisions are part of the reason that the Bucs are always strugling on offense!!  Oh well, we only have 4 more years of this “Stuff”!!!

Great article on ESPN.com about the Bucs offseason.  I suggest all of you fans read this and realize that we are on the right track:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=yasinskas_pat&id=3298311

Ths article doesn’t frown upon the lack of “Playmakers” or that no “good” players want to play for Gruden.

This is why most of you so-called fans infuriate me by making stupid comments about how bad this team is or how Gruden and Allen should be fired.  Take a non-biased writer’s opinion and educate yourselves on what it means to be a fan of a team.

I think leaning on clayton and stovall is a good idea. They were brought to tampa for a reason, now they need to produce. A high draft pick for WR is still necessary of course.

Darrell Jackson or Reche Caldwell would be a steal, recently as a over a season ago their teams respective No. 1 receivers, both still in their prime age wise. Both with excellent speed and big play ability. How can we not sign these guys. Draft some youngsters sure, but odds are they won’t be as good as either of these guys. And Hello, Florida boys as well. Wake up Bucs

How can the bucs lean heavily on the 3 and 4 receivers, re-sign Parris Warren, speak about Chad lucas making a bigger impact, have two entrenched starters and then mention drafting another receiver? The wr class is deep but the talent available offers no real signifigant upgrades available in this year’s draft for WR. There is could be a later pick like 3-4 for some WR speed and or p/r, but why would the Bucs pick a wr in rd one who might not even start?
