TAMPA - Chris Hovan won’t be around forever. That’s why the Bucs traded up in the fourth round to take Dre Moore out of Maryland.
Moore has never been the hardest worker on his team but he’s long been one of the most gifted. He’s a massive power player, a 6-foot-5, 307-pound load of a guy who is very hard to move. He’s also fast. Very fast. He ran a 4.8 40 at the combine, which is incredible for a player his size. The only problem is, he doesn’t always use that speed real well. He doesn’t do a good job of shooting gaps and getting to the passer because he doesn’t have real good quickness or technique. He should prove to be a pretty good run stuffer, though.
The key here is to get Moore to play with intensity. He’s one of those guys who takes a lot of plays off, but that won’t fly with Monte Kiffin. It won’t fly with Bucs D-line coach Larry Coyer either. Coyer had to kick Gaines Adams’ butt a little bit last year to get him going, and now he has Moore’s butt to kick around.
By the way, the trade the Bucs engineered to get this guy looks like this: the Bucs traded the 120th and 158th pick in the draft for the 115th pick and the 175th pick. That’s a swap of fourth round selections with the Bucs giving up one of their two fifth-round picks for a sixth-round pick.

Draft could have been better but not bad. Go get us ocho cinco! No Chad Henne, Brian Brohm!?? Just 6 trash Quarterbacks to back up our good vet in Jeff Garcia. What the hell? Still waiting on Plummer, Mr. Allen and Gruden? No SuperBowl win at home this year again!

Oh Alex relax! Are you afraid of people voicing their opinions even if they are contrary to th all knowing Gruden/Allen. Give me a break. You say we are complaining, I say we are debating and voicing opinions. Why even have a message board? just to praise how wonderful the bucs are? BORING!!!!!!

None of you have the right to complain on the way this draft has been conducted, on the front office or the players they all have the potential to go far or to fail miserablly. Only time can tell, and football is a sports were very few rookies make immiedeate impacts, so all of you naysaers now need to hold your breath. And really think about how much expierince you scouting drafting and developing college kids into profesinal athletes

After blowing the first two picks horribly (Talib off many boards due to being a doper...2d to 3rd rd drop for sure & Jackson proj 3-4 rd). Zuttah is a strong (35 reps of 225lb)OL, but why when we have Buenning? Dre Moore dropped from 2d rd (31 reps on bench and 4.88 in 40). Projects as Under Tackle. A great value and need pick. Must be a Kiffin pick while Allen and Gruden on break.

Great pick! we needed a DT and i think this was a steal. under Monte with guy should flourish in a year or so. I think the next pick should be FB to replace mike if they think there is any worth taking.

OK. I gotcha. I was’nt crazy about the Jackson pick either. i don’t like shrimpy receivers in the NFL, at 170 pounds he won’t be able to run away from injuries no matter how fast he is...To me I thaught Gruden was going with Brohm, however I guess the need for speed was too great and i think your right, with Jackson from Cal gone they wanted this guy and new he would be there later in the second.

What I am saying is that if you put a dollar value on 6 second round pick slots and compare that to the dollar value of 5 forth round pick slots + a sixth, there is no comparison. The only way this makes any sense to me is that if they were going to take Dexter Jackson with their pick in the second regardless. They figured he would be there 6 picks later so they pulled the trigger. Don’t get me wrong, I like the 4th pick, but I would have stayed put, drafted Brohm in the second and come back with a receiver in the third.

Joe, you may turn out to be right, but if Jackson turns out to be good we still have a sixth out of it to add some depth.

Joe, what? They traded pick #120 and #158 for picks #115 and #175. They selected a guy who (barring injury) will be a solid starter in two years. Whats your issue, im not sure what you are saying.

If Kiffins crew motivates this guy we have a steal. That extra 5th that gave us the room to do this may make this a good draft.

No problem with the pick but let’s do the math:
To trade down 6 slots in the 2nd round, you get a 5th round pick.
Then to trade up 5 slots in the 4th round you trade it away. Do you know what the difference in value between the 2nd and 4th is?! Certainly not a round 6. WTF?

Good pick!!! This guy has major untaped potential. Roy, I disagree with your statement that this guy is not quick or fast off the ball. Thats bull. He is a 310 pounder that ran a 4.8 in the 40! Are you kidding me? He is faster then a lot of QBs in the league...Plus i watched him play a few games and he dominated in all of them.

Trade Clayton for Chad Johnson, I would love to see Gruden have to deal with Chad. Sorry Jon but after this draft we need him
