Middleton High’s football program received news of a major boost Tuesday when the Tigers were selected to be a recipient of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Davin Joseph’s Events For Cause Foundation.
First-year Middleton head coach Alonzo Ashwood says his squad, along with the school’s performing arts program, will partner with Jospeh’s foundation to help with funding in needed areas. For the football team, that will include pre-game meals and proper nutrition and hydration during and after competition and training.

Joseph will also provide Middleton with 24 tickets to Bucs preseason and regular season home games in a special section of Raymond James Stadium called “Davin’s Dream Team.”
“This is big for our program and it’s a great thing Davin is doing not just for our players but also for a lot of other kids in other communities,” Ashwood said. “We’re honored by this.”
Joseph, now in his sixth season as a Bucs starter, started the program in his hometown of Hallandale and has now expanded it to Tampa. His foundation seeks to provide services and nutritional aid to public schools, youth clubs and non-profit community centers that may lack the necessary funding for all participants.
