Coming off his 100th career victory from Friday’s 17-7 defeat of Ocala Trinity Catholic, Tampa Catholic’s Bob Henriquez has been named the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ high school coach of the week for Week 3 of the 2009 season.

“I share this award with the whole program,” Henriquez said. “Between the parents, players, assistant coaches and administration, there’s a lot of folks at my school that make it easy for me to look good.”
Prior to the Bucs’ Wednesday morning training session at One Buc Place, head coach Raheem Morris will present Henriquez with a certificate, an autographed football and a $1,000 check to be donated to the Crusaders’ football program. Henriquez and his guests will also get a tour of One Buc Place and the TC program will be featured on Buccaneers.com.
“I’m glad the Bucs do this for the coaches in this community,” Henriquez said. “There’s so many good coaches out there that work long hours at this sport and it’s great that the Bucs take time to recognize them.”
Friday’s made Henriquez, now in his 14th season, one of only four active coaches in Hillsborough County with at least 100 career wins as a coach. He’ll go for No. 101 on Friday when the Crusaders hit the road to take on Orlando Lake Highland Prep in their district opener.
