Armwood football coach Sean Callahan has been selected as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach of the Week for Week 8 of the football season following the Hawks’ big district victory last Friday over Hillsborough.
Callahan will receive $1,000 for the Hawks football program for his selection, in addition to a personalized football from Bucs coach Raheem Morris and a tour of One Buc Place, which occurred Wednesday morning.
The Hawks (6-1) travel to face Gaither on Thursday, and they’ll be without the services of three starters - defensive backs Quinton Brown and Khiri McQuay and running back Matt Jones - against the Cowboys. All three players are nursing injuries and will be held out, Callahan said.
Armwood will have a chance to wrap up the district title and a postseason berth Nov. 6 at East Bay.
