TAMPA - The Bucs reduced their list of disgruntled players by one on Sunday when they reached agreement on a contract extension with running back Earnest Graham.
The new deal is expected to keep Graham in a Bucs uniform through the 2012 season is reportedly worth $11 million, according to NFL.com
The deal comes in the wake of Graham’s holdout from offseason workouts and should put an end to any speculation Graham might skip the start of training camp.
The only portion of the offseason program that Graham participated in this year was the mandatory minicamp. During the camp, however, Graham did not rule out the possibility he might skip camp in an effort to get the contract he was looking for.

Hey Big Buc Fan…Does your @ss hurt from speaking out of it so much? No parody in the NFL? What the he!l are you smoking? You don’t think that the Giants win in the SB was affirmation of the true parody in the NFL?

Shannon,
I actually lived in Titusville all of my life. I went to Oak Park elm. and
Madison mid.school And also went to Astronaut High ” Go War Eagles” and played football there and graduated class of 91’. Its nice to hear from some hometown people on here. Take care.

I would love to see the Bucs vs Jags in the Superbowl. That would be awesome. Anybody but the Pats. I don’t see Arizona doing much this year , but thats just my opinion. Alot of people think they are going to turn it around. I want to see the Jag’s Defense in the preseason. It will be a good measure for our offense. It should be good and hopefully no injuries this preseason. Again, The Dungy can’t win with Dungy’s team will apply when the Colts go down, but at least Tony got his ring, Yea!! Peyton is still number 1 in my book. he needs to come play for Tampa. What a thrill that would be. And by the way, I HATE THE PATS & BELICHICK.

Todd,
I agree 100% The Jags looked like they could have put up a better fight last year in the Superbowl than the Patriots did against the Giants. By the way, love me some Port Saint John, Go Rockets! Went to THS 1995

If Arz.. can keep their QB healthy I agree with you they are going to be the sleeper team.

The Jaguars are going to finely take the Colts division this season AFC South. Watch out for the Jags in the AFC. Their pass rush is going to be alot tougher. Gerrard is a good QB.

i honestly feel the biggest surpise this coming season is going to be ARZ…

Your right, I totally forgot about the Chargers, but I think the new Border Fence cuts through their Stadium. Ah…MCRD San Diego, brings back memories. They are a good team though, but I think they’re also on the way down like the Colts, but still better than most of the AFC. Rivers is an arrogant QB that provokes many Defenders and I think somebody will hurt him because of his behavior. I can’t wait to see them here in December. Bucs 24, Chargers 10.

hey bigbucfan, what about the chargers. You dont think they are an good team in the AFC. I think they are the best team in the AFC. I also dont think the Saints are a 1 and done team. They had a good off season. They will be tough this year but I think we can handle them.

We’lllllll Seeeeee. I think we’re going to be better than most people think. Look at the teams in the NFL. A few years ago there was real parity and closeness from the first to the worst. Now that parity has gone to disparity. There are only a handful of good teams in the NFL now and the rest are really bad. The NFL middle class has evaporated. New Orleans was good but they are one and done. Carolina, Atlanta,Chicago,Detroit,SF,Rams,Phili,Cards,Skins all subpar. Dallas,Giants,Bucs, Hawks are the NFC. Pats, Jags, Steelers, Browns in the AFC. I really like the Texans this year though & I think they’ll surprise everybody. I think the Colts are on the way down too & the rest are not good.

BigBucFan…I appreciate your optimism, but the #1 rushing team in the NFL? Probably not. I’m fairly sure we won’t even be in the top 5. Right now, we have a young o-line that excels in run-blocking + a stable of “solid” RBs. To me, that’s not the formula for an top-5 rushing attack. WE definitely have the personnel to be top-half, maybe even scratching into the top-10. That said, we could be a surprise…stranger things have happened.
Despite that…remember…with a defense as good as ours, all we need is to have a “solid” offense. Anything more than that is just a bonus.

BigBucFan, you forgot Patrick and todd agreeing on something, “Gruden’s fault”.
Posted by patrick dotson, tampa,fl on 07/01 at 12:41 AM
simms is a forgone conclusion in my book on this team…so not this patrick…
Posted by todd, PSJ on 06/30 at 11:45 PM
It could be the other Patrick I’m talking about. Simms the starter ? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha That is funny.

Patrick,
Well said about Dunn. Thats about one of the only things I ever agreed with you about on here. Your getting better Patrick. I’m proud of you. Keep up the good blogs. Dunn was not happy in Atlanta last year. With the coaching and everything about the Falcons. I’m sure he is glad to be home now. He will tear it up on the field this season. Watch and see everybody.
Posted by patrick dotson, tampa,fl on 06/30 at 09:05 PM
no team ever in nfl history has been in the super bowl in there own city…
Posted by BigBucFan, Sarasota on 06/30 at 08:02 PM
I hope your right Patrick. Dunn is a great guy and I’d love to see him go out on top and disspell all the Atlanta Demons. I think we are going to have 2 backs with 1000 yd seasons, Graham for sure and with that big O line, should be the NUMBER 1 rushing team in the NFL, with the number 1 defense. Stay healthy, stay focused and Superbowl with home field advantage. I don’t think that has happened before. I may be wrong. Does anybody know for sure? Go Bucs !!!
Posted by patrick dotson, tampa,fl on 06/30 at 07:49 PM
graham did deserve his extension and i have no complaints about it…i will say this…dunn will be our starter by the start of the season…dunn didnt perform well because he didnt have a line at all in atl…and now that he has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove everybody wrong that he doesnt have anything left…our backfield is goin to be very interesting this year…
Posted by BigBucFan, Sarasota on 06/30 at 07:36 PM
I agree, this must be Gruden’s fault. The 2002 Superbowl…Gruden’s fault. NFC South last year…yep Gruden’s fault. Sapp being 2 hours late for party…Gruden’s fault. Carmella Garcia having a baby girl…yep Gruden’s fault. Plumetting home prices…Gruden’s fault. John Tortorella losing his job…Gruden’s fault. Gruden has to try a little harder. I think he doesn’t work enough hours. Maybe we can go to 25 hour day.

The trib is pathetic “Reduce the Number of Disgruntled Players.” Simms and Garcia are the only disgruntled players, that is two out of 80 something. That is better than your average team in the league. Not to mention Graham was saying all nice things about the organization at mini-camp and FanFest. The trib has real agenda against Gruden and Allen. There is no ethics and accountability with this newspaper.

Lets look at what Tampa Bay has done so far this year. I wish these so call football experts fans, needs to see what they do in pre-season and if they don’t get the job done and return to the playoffs with advaning to the 2nd round then its time for GM and the Head Coach to Go. Lets start a Doug Williams for GM next year. Go Bucs

Todd, if you can’t see the sarcasm; I really don’t know what to tell you.
Posted by todd, PSJ on 06/30 at 04:02 PM
Skyler,
What is grudens fault? That Graham got his extension ?
Posted by Shawn Golan, Los Angeles, CA on 06/30 at 02:26 PM
Caddy is still an interesting story to follow. Clearly, he’s not quite ready to step in and play. For that reason, I like resigning Graham - he provides a durable/dependable RB for the next 4 years. My only fear is that inking Graham to this extension means that, if Caddy never comes back at 100%, we can’t draft another RB. I like Graham, but I like him as a #2 RB. If Caddy is done, I’d love to be able to draft another young guy in the next year or two. I’m just not sure we can do that with so many RBs on the payroll.

Sky, I link parody to percentage of good teams and bad teams. 32 teams. 6 good NFC (Giants,Cowboys,Packers,Vikings,Bucs,Seahawks).6 good AFC(Pats,Steelers,Colts,Jags,Chargers,Browns). That leaves 20 teams of which (Texans,Redskins, maybe Titans,Cards) are mediocre. The last 16 pretty much sucked in 07. That’s not parody & my spelling is poor, I know. It goes in cycles like I said. Some years all teams are real close in ability and some years, like last year, it’s the Great Divide. Injuries & luck. The Giants won, because they were HOT, they had the best D-line & O-Line, and they were underestimated by many. Manning also was clutch in Playoffs. If I’m wrong, prove it.
