Today is the last of two-a-days that the Bucs will see at Wide World of Sports, and Jon Gruden isn’t wasting any time. The Bucs ran 11-on-11s before focusing on the kicking game. Josh Johnson was given plenty of snaps early on, and even though there’s virtually no chance he’ll play as a rookie quarterback (not exactly a good recent history of that from a Bucs perspective) he has a presence about him, and he doesn’t seem fazed by facing veteran defenders.
One of the special-teams drills this morning was with the field goal team. Matt Bryant, no doubt trying to shake Saturday night’s performance out of his mind (and the minds of others), looked good, nailing a couple of 40-yarders against a pretty stout kick-block team (above).
Meanwhile, the daily Joey Galloway watch reveals that the White Tiger himself has donned shoulder pads - there’s clearly a progression here, as he unearthed his helmet for the first time yesterday - but is still abstaining from practice. With today being his last real chance to truly participate in training camp, we’ll let you know how his day goes.
