Posted Feb 16, 2009 by Roy Cummings

TAMPA – The Bucs staff of coaches and scouts will be leaving for the scouting combine later this week. Before they do, their new coordinators will sit down with the media to discuss their approach to the game.

Offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski will be available on Tuesday while defensive coordinator Jim Bates will be available on Wednesday.

What we’re interested in knowing from you is what you want to know from the coordinators. Tell us some of the questions you would ask Jagodzinki and Bates, and we’ll do our best to get the answers for you.

I was wondering what type of offense we were going to see this year and how key players were going to be implemented into the offense. how big of a role will dexter jackson play depending on the status of galloway returning or not(I see dexter as a galloway type player just younger and more raw). Also will they be looking to add depth at running back with graham and cadillac recovering from season ending injuries. As for the quarterback position do they think Mccown has the ability to be a starter next year without turning the team into rebuilding mode? if not what other choices do we have for the quarterback position?

Mitch, isn’t the first time (had it happen to me not too long ago, about Roy) and sadly, I’m sure, won’t be the last.

I’ve read that Jagz runs a hybrid West Coast offense with a vertical element to it.  Would just like to hear how HE describes his philosophy, as well as Bates.  While I’m sure they won’t get into players they like in the draft & free agency, would be curious to know what type of players they prefer on offense and defense, as well as areas of need in their opinion.

I’d like to know what made the Tampa Bay job attractive to them.  What do they see in the team/players that make them believe they will be successful?

Wow, a record 4 posts of mine have been pulled today.  How ironic that this happens on President’s Day.  Congratulations Tribune staff for censoring the opinions of a bucs fan. Your actions would be the same as Roy being banned from the One Buc Place after criticizing members of Bucs management or coaching staff.  You guys should be very proud.

Fred Taylor released by the Jags today. Graham & Taylor backfield might work for a year or two, depending on our options. Harvin? Tebow? Any Questions? Could be another Gator Conspiracy. Will Urban Meyer hire Jon Gruden? Will Lane Brain Kiffin get fired before the Season? DOes Monti Kiffin realy have a clue anymore? Does Nancy Pelosi really spend $5.8 mil each year on jet fuel for her luxury jet? Inquiring Minds Want to know.

I’m calling it now: Lane the idiot Kiffin will be fired by Tennessee in the near future, or by the end of the year, and Jon Gruden will be hired in his place. mark my words.
Monte has lost his mind as well.

Congratulations TBO Bucs Beat Writers for once again failing to publish a story ahead of ESPN.com and the SP Pete Times.  Both are running stories about Jagodzinski’s meeting with local reporters while TBO.com has nothing new to report!  I guess Roy and Co couldn’t get enough help from the fans.

Hi Roy,

I’d love to hear first from DC Bates what his philosophy is on QB pressure.  If it’s not coming from the front four (as last year) will he be willing to put together blitz pkgs (Steelers, Eagles, etc) to get there?  Too many times last year Rivers, Ryan, even Russell stood back there for 5-10 secs.

From OC Jagodzinski I’d like to hear how he plans on opening up the offense?  Throwing a 2-yard pass to the sideline on 3rd and 8 doesn’t have a high success ratio.

Thank you.

I’d like to know how the Bucs are going to fix their running game.

Then I’d like to know what Mitch has to say.

Here’s a summary of Q & A interview with DC Bates. I like the sound of this guy and his D, plus he’s got a great sense of humor.
