Bucs/Broncos Wrap

It wasn’t our day.  That’s not what’s eating me at the moment.  I’m bummed that we made the Broncos defense look good.  This is the unit the Kansas City Chiefs pushed all over the field.  The KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!  So, while I’m proud of our defense for stopping the Broncos league leading attack, I’m troubled that our offense couldn’t have been a little more effective.

Penalties hurt today.  You can chock some of it up to Invesco Field crowd noise.  Still, some were due to lack of focus.  It’s tough to be starting our first and fifteen and first and twenty.  It’s tougher still when we’re facing second or third and a cab-ride most of the afternoon.

I suppose we can be happy that Brian Griese didn’t throw any picks today.  Of course, if could be argued that the Broncos kept him from miscues for us by taking him out of the game.  Hope he’s alright.

This week’s Dexter whining… You know, I have been dogging Dexter Jackson all season long.  Last week he actually looked like he might have been reading my blog, so I cut him some slack.  Not this time.  Please put Ike Hilliard or someone else… ANYONE else… back there to return punts for us.  The man looks timid and afraid.  I cannot believe we drafted him to be our return man.  Get Michael Spurlock back.

Disappointing loss.  But, the sky isn’t falling.  A win next week over the Panthers and we’re right back on top of things.  Just a mile-high might-have-been.  Let’s move on.  So, who will be under center next week?

What did you see out there?

First off, I blame the guy calling the plays on this one. We learned years ago that Dunn cant bust through the line without a blocker like Alstott in front of him and Graham is no Alstott. But they insisted on running that play over and over. It became too frustrating to watch. Griese is now paranoid about throwing an interception. I would rather he throw three interceptions and win the game! Better yet just put a confident Garcia back in.
Kudos to the secondary but I think our defensive ends stayed on the bus. If we are going to beat Carolina we need to apply pressure!! Cuttler was untouched!

Its obvious Garcia is the better qb.  Gruden is not getting along with garcia thats why hes not playing.

Watching the press conference gruden says I think brian did some good things.  What good things did he do?  Hes stinking it up week in week out.  This guy is awful.

No doubt in my mind if garcia played the full game today we would of won.

The very best of what he's produced are four wonderful girls - Amanda, Katie, Becky and Emily - he managed to pull that off along with his lovely wife Shari. Together they all live in a red house surrounded by lots of trees in the same community with lots of really great people. He is known to hang out on Sunday mornings with people of a much higher caliber than he, and counts that among life's greatest privileges. Then, on Sunday afternoons, Darin and his family settle in for the full slate of NFL games, shouting loudest when the Buccaneers take the field.
