Buc Got A Fifth-Round Pick For Smith

TAMPA – For those of you keeping score at home, it was a fifth-round pick in next year’s draft that the Bucs got back from the Patriots in the Alex Smith trade.

Smith was deemed expendable after the Bucs traded for tight end Kellen Winslow and re-signed tight end Jerramy Stevens.

The Bucs gave up a second-round pick in this year’s draft and a fifth next year for Winslow. They now have the fifth back.

The teams best TE is only worth a 5th rounder? should have traded the rapist. Alex will shine givin the opportunity.

Not to bad considering this years draft was deep at TE.

Not bad considering it the Pats.  If they can get Moss for a 4th I was expecting a 7th for Alex.

Untruckingbelievable! We get rid of 3rd rd veteran, Smith for a 5th rd pick from the Pats? That’s like a 6th rounder considering their likelihood to have another great year. Ask yourself, “If a team as good as the Pats wants Smith, isn’t he therefore a quality player?” Yes. He’s sure better than Stevens if given the chance to play. Obviously, they figure Winslow won’t get hurt and we need a blocker the size of Stevens, who also won’t get hurt. Based on the past, that’s pretty stupid thinking. Keep your 5th rdr. I’d rather have Smith.

At least we didnot give up a 1st round pick in next year draft. But look at after the draft and who came on board for chicken feed. I really like what the new Coach and GM has done to Revized
the Bucs now and the future, I will be 64 when Tampa plays the NFL East,Buffalo,Carolina and NE in London. The early part of the season. I feel that this could be a benefit factor for Tampa Bay.Because The teams early in the season would not figure how to stop Tampa. I am hoping that they are on the correct track.GO BUCS.
