Wesley Chapel’s Erik Thomas set a single-game school record with 25 rebounds, to go along with his 22 points, in a 59-45 victory against Gulf on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4 forward has had a breakout season for the Wildcats and is averaging career bests in every category, including scoring around 21 points per game and grabbing just under 14 boards a night. The last time Wesley Chapel faced Gulf—on Dec. 15—Thomas also had a big game in the Wildcats’ 69-60 victory as he scored 33 points and nabbed 22 rebounds.
Thomas has had 15 games where he has notched double-doubles and has seven games where he has grabbed 15 rebounds or more. The junior is also averaging four assists per game, nearly three blocks a contest and a shade under three steals per game.
