The Brandon High Eagles have a new girls basketball coach.
T.J. Bottiggi, a science teacher at the school, takes over a program that finished 2-18 last season. He replaces longtime coach James Smith, a ROTC instructor at Brandon who resigned to spend more time with his family.
Bottiggi came to Brandon from Vermont last year. He was a four-year varsity high school player in Vermont, where he scored more than 1,500 points and earned All-State honors as a junior and senior.
He also played four years at Castleton State, a Division III college in Vermont.
