According to Rays officials, there is nothing to today’s published report that the team may have interest in signing Barry Bonds.
‘‘It’s a non-story,’’ executive vice president Andrew Friedman said through team apokesman Rick Vaughn.

Thw Rays are not going to make the playoffs, so Bonds’ influence would not hurt the team as far as a playoff run. But he would put people in the seats. Plus he can still hit.

I think Bonds would be a great move for the Rays. 1 yr deal for $10 million. You know the saying “theres no such thing as bad press”? I think it would bring allot of attention to the other upcoming stars on the Rays. Hes not going to be a bad influence. He isnt the same guy anymore. He knows hes almost done, and hell be greatful for any playing time he can get. Plus his aquisition automoatically makes the Rays a scary team and the “sleeper” team of the year. With Bonds, Pena, Upton, and Crawford with bonds .480 OBP i think they rays will be significantly better. ANd you might be able to see HR 800 in Tropicana field. That would be cool

send Bonds to the Twins to baby sit Delmon, as Dimitri is to Dukes. Dukes has a chance in DC, would be fun watching Twins implode

Have they lost their minds? This man is no example to present to the youth of America, or for that matter, to the players themselves. Bonds is a fraud. To reward the likes of this baseball trash with a contract is tantamount to absolution for sins committed. He doesn’t seek forgiveness, he flaunts his ARROGANCE. No way does Tampa Bay need a distraction on the team that represents the things that are WRONG with the game. TB should tell his agent to take a hike! 10 million? I wouldn’t give him 10 cents.

No? What are you talking about. It is still on and live.
Hey guys, we had this story nailed weeks ago.
Barry and the Rays are “a match made in .... somewhere….!!!!
It is doable. Keep the faith!
