Blake’s Taliafferro makes pick

Blake senior defensive lineman George Taliafferro has verbally committed to Division II Johnson C. Smith, Yellow Jackets assistant Carlos Blake said Sunday.
Taliafferro was among the Yellow Jackets’ defensive leaders in 2009. He finished the year with 95 tackles and three sacks.
Johnson C. Smith, located in Charlotte, N.C., competes in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Golden Bulls finished 3-7 in 2009, 2-5 in CIAA play.
