Blake tight end and rising senior Michael McFarland reaffirmed his commitment to the Florida Gators on Thursday, saying he is “not resigning from my commitment.”

McFarland, a 6-foot-6 tight end, verbally committed in March. Last season, he had 12 receptions for 135 yards and two touchdowns and completed 16 of 55 passes for 153 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions. On defense, he had 15 tackles and one sack.
“I gave my word,” he said.
McFarland did say he’s pondering taking official visits to other schools that have offered, which include Auburn and South Carolina.
“I want to, but if I did, how would Florida look at me?”, he said. “I just want to get out of town, see the world. I just want to see other campuses to see what their schools are like, what the students are like. I’m not resigning from my commitment. I wouldn’t want coach [Urban] Meyer to second guess me.”
