Blake offensive coordinator Carlos Blake has teammed with area football coaches and the Blake High School Booster Club to host the 1st Blake Women’s Football Clinic (BWFC) on Oct. 3 at Blake to provide a workout experience for women 18 and up. The clinic will focus on physical fitness, nutrition, and teamwork while teaching the fundamentals of football.
Blake said he wanted to create awareness for women’s fitness after losing his aunt to cancer. She died Monday.
“This event gives us an opportunity to reach out to women in the community in support of a worthy cause,” Blake said in a release. “Proceeds from the clinic will assist in providing our young men with pre-game meals, football cleats, apparel worn on college visits, and offseason college camps to improve skills needed to compete at a higher level.”
The clinic will be held at Blake, located at 1701 N. Boulevard in Tampa, from 8:15 a.m. to noon. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m.
