The Blake vs. Middleton football rivalry game will be played on Oct. 3, a Friday this year, Hillsborough County athletic director Lanness Robinson confirmed. The last two years, the game has been played on a Saturday.
“We’ve gotten bumped the last couple years,” Robinson said. “We play high school football on Friday nights.”
The game has to coincide with USF’s schedule and the Tampa Sports Authority schedule.
“As long as we play the game, it doesn’t matter,” Middleton coach Harry Hubbard said. “Friday or Saturday, people are going to come.”
