Bishop McLaughlin will once again use a summer to search for a new boys basketball coach as Reilly Campbell has resigned after one season.
“I’m resigning to pursue other opportunities and to spend more time with my family,” Campbell said. “Most of my family lives in Jacksonville and at this time I’d just like to spend more time with them and also look into other opportunities.”
Despite going 5-20 last season, Campbell stated that he believed the team grew up a lot and improved throughout the season. Campbell was a former assistant at Oldsmar Christian and Sarasota Out-of-Door Academy before taking the job at Bishop McLaughlin last summer. The Jacksonville native replaced former coach Michael Slonaker, who took the same position at Plant after the 2010-2011 season.
