BALTIMORE—Nice story this morning in the Montgomery Advertiser, as beat writer extraordinaire Stacy Long catches up with Biscuits pitcher Darin Downs, who was struck in the head by a line drive a month ago today.
Downs is back home in South Florida and looking forward to his Nov. 14 wedding. It sounds like the 24-year-old is recovering well, and he’s looking forward to getting back on the mound next spring.
By the way, if you’re a Rays fan and you aren’t following Stacy Long’s blog already, you should be. The man does excellent work—and recently was named the Southern League Sportswriter of the Year for his efforts.
