Here are my Big East power rankings after last week’s games.
Re-Tweeting Week 4
Ranking the league from top to bottom and summarizing each team, in 140 characters or less.
1. Cincinnati: Saturday will be 114th meeting for Cincinnati and Miami, Ohio. UC might score one point for every game in series
2. USF: The Bulls’ win at Florida State makes USF part of the state’s marquee programs. But is FSU still part of the state’s Big 3?
3. WVU: Mountaineers hope to continue weekday magic: WVU has won six consecutive weekday home games entering Thursday’s tilt with Colorado
4. Pitt: Scoreboard said it was close, NC State 38, Pitt 31. Stats said rout: Pitt outgained 530-300 and Panthers held to 11 first downs
5. UConn: As expected Huskies manhandle Rhode Island. UConn gets a week off before opening league play at Pittsburgh on Oct. 10
6. Syracuse: Orange back to .500 for first time since 2006. An upset Saturday against USF would match last year’s win total for the ‘Cuse
7. Rutgers: A decent W at Maryland (thanks to two defensive TDs), but RU still toward bottom. Mighty Texas Southern visits next week
8. Louisville: Winning just not in the Cards. Loss at Utah was Louisville’s seventh in last eight games
